Sikkim Manipal University was established in 1995 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission and approved by the Government of India. Due to the fact that It is the first ever Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the country for higher Education and Health Care services, the college provides the best facility in all over the North East. The College is recognized by the Medical Council of India with permissible student intake of 150 in MBBS course.
The College is currently under the leadership of Chancellor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya & Dilip Chandra Agarwal holding the position of Vice Chancellor 150.
